Under 9's Aberystwyth Tour - 7 th - 10 th April
A 16 strong squad of Tows under 9's made the trip to the South West Wales coast along with great support from Fathers, Mothers, Brothers & Sisters. The base for the weekend was the Quay West Holiday Park which provided loads of entertainment for the boys and the chance for everyone to relax with a drink or three into the evening. The whole place had a great atmosphere with numerous teams and supporters from Scotland , Wales , Ireland and England .
The sun shone throughout the weekend (despite near artic overnight conditions in the caravans!) and the Aberystwyth club laid on a pitch which was in superb condition.
Despite fewer teams than originally expected entering the under 9's competition Tows faced the prospect of matches against the home side Aberystwth and close neighbours Cardigan. There was a real buzz of anticipation from the squad who would be playing a different type of game (no set piece scrums or line-outs) against teams from Wales with such a strong rugby heritage..it was all to play for.and they were certainly more then up for it.
Overall the weekend witnessed an absolutely outstanding performance from each and every player in the squad. The result is a real testament to the hard work, energy and sheer commitment of the whole coaching team. A huge thank you to Phil, Adam, Bruce, Tim and Rob for helping to shape such a motivated and successful squad.
A fantastic weekend was had by all - and what memories for a great group of boys!
